President meets Inter-Religious Council of Uganda Delegation

President Yoweri Museveni has held a meeting with members of the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda who called on him today at State House Entebbe.

The President and the members of the delegation who were led by the current Inter-Religious Council Chairman and Mufti of Uganda, His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje, discussed pertinent development issues, especially the role of sensitizing the masses on household poverty eradication.

The Inter-religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) is a conglomeration of the faith based-groups in Uganda that works to achieve peace and harmony within the country.

Its mission is to promote dialogue and harmonious co-existence amongst all faith groups in the country through joint prayers and exchange of visits, advocates good governance and national reconciliation and also encourages non-violent resolution of conflicts.
