Bukoto Central endorses Museveni candidacy for 2016

NRM leaders and supporters from Bukoto in Masaka District have un anonymously endorsed NRM MPs’ Kyankwazi resolution backing President Yoweri Museveni sole candidacy and flag bearer for NRM party in the 2016 general elections.

They made their endorsement while meeting their member of parliament who is also the Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi in three separate consultative meetings held in Kyesiiga, Kyanamukaka and Kabonero sub counties respectively.

NRM leaders who included Masaka District and Sub-county Councilors, Women and Youth leaders, Mobilisers and opinion leaders reached their unanimous vote during a consultative meeting for the sub counties of Kyesiga, Kyanamukaka and Kbonera sub-counties of Masaka District.

During the meetings organized by the Woman MP for Masaka District Freda Mubanda, the Vice President commended party leaders and supporters for endorsing President Museveni, a move he called on all other NRM leaders and supporters across the country to emulate.

Ssekandi said endorsing President Museveni as a sole candidate will go a long way in consolidating unity and cohesion within the party and also boast the trust and confidence Ugandans have in the President and NRM leadership across the country.

He also called upon the people of Bukoto and Masaka in general to work hard and eliminate poverty from their homesteads and urged farmers to use the rains and open up more land for cultivation saying he will besides coffee seedlings avail more maize and bean seeds for planting.

The Vice President also called upon those involved in the distribution of seedlings and seeds to avoid any political, religious or cultural biases but serve all interested, ready and able to grow enough food for the community.

Masaka Woman Member of Parliament Freda Mubanda assured local council leaders in Bukoto that the Ministry of Local Government is working towards getting them the long awaited bicycles adding that so far close to 50 districts have received these bicycles.

The meeting was also addressed among others by Masaka LC5 Chairman Joseph Kalungi and the District NRM Chairperson Peter Ssenkungu.
