PRESIDENT MUSEVENI, CHURCH LEADERS DISCUSS JANAN LUWUMU MEMORIAL STADIUM

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has this afternoon Wednesday April 13, 2022 met and held discussions with Church of Uganda leaders led by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda the Most Reverend Dr. Samuel Kazimba Mugalu.

The meeting took place at State House Entebbe.

The meeting that was attended by the Bishop of Kitgum Diocese discussed the development of Janan Luwum site at Muchwini in Kitgum district.

MOSLEMS RECONCILE, SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO FORM ONE BODY

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has since time immemorial preached unity among the people because it discovered that unity is Strength. The President said this while commending the Moslem community and leaders for uniting. 

“I am happy because we as NRM discovered long time ago that unity is strength. We have always preached against disunity. I want to thank you for reaching this unity,” the President said.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI HOSTS DELEGATION OF UNFPA FROM EAST AND SOUTHERN AFRICA

H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has hosted a delegation of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) from East and Southern Africa led by Dr. Bannet Ndyanabangi, the UNFPA Regional Director for East and Southern Africa who was accompanied by the UNFPA resident representative in Uganda, Dr. Mary Otieno at State House, Entebbe. The President and his guests discussed Uganda's demography.

EAC HEADS OF STATE ADMIT DR CONGO TO THE COMMUNITY

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: East African Heads of State have today officially admitted the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) into the East African Community effectively making it the latest and largest member of the trading block.

During the EAC Heads of State 19th Extra-Ordinary Summit held virtually, the summit considered the report of the Council of Ministers on the negotiations between the East African Community (EAC) and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on admission of DRC into the EAC. 

TOORO INDUSTRIAL HUB TO SKILL YOUTH FOR MONEY ECONOMY - SHC

KYENJOJO DISTRICT: The Tooro Presidential Industrial Hub will train youth in different skills including bakery, block making and stone cutting, shoe making, tailoring and knitting, Coffee and maize processing, welding, hair dressing and others through common user facilities to empower them to join the money economy, the State House Comptroller Jane Barekye has said. 

EDUCATION STRUCTURES: “PLAN, PRIORITIZE, EXPAND” PRESIDENT

TESO COLLEGE, SOROTI CITY: President Yoweri Museveni has called for the construction of simple, cost effective structures at the institutions of learning that will leave room for the expansion and accommodate more students.

“Let us plan, prioritise and resolve the issue of constructing simple and cost effective schools that will cover everybody instead of building storied flats that are very expensive,” he said.
