PRESIDENT MUSEVENI AND HIS SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE COUNTERPART DISCUSS ECONOMIC COOPERATION

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today met and held discussions with the President of São Tomé and Principe, H.E Carlos Manuel Vila Nova. 

During a meeting held at State House Entebbe, the two leaders discussed issues concerning bilateral relations between the two countries, with key focus on economic cooperation.

President Museveni assured his guest that Uganda is ready to cooperate with São Tomé and Principe in various sectors of the economy. 

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI BIDS FAREWELL TO OUTGOING ALGERIAN AMBASSADOR AS HE ENDS TOUR OF DUTY IN UGANDA

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today met the outgoing Algerian Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Cherif Oualid who paid a courtesy call on him at State House Entebbe. 

During the meeting, President Museveni bid farewell to Ambassador Cherif and thanked him for the good work during his time of service in Uganda. 

“I'm very happy you have done a good job,” the President said. 

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI PASSES OUT 4,212 LOCAL DEFENCE PERSONNEL

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is also the Commander In Chief of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) yesterday passed out a total of 4,212 Local Defence Personnel (LDP) at Olilim Training School, in Katakwi District. 

During the ceremony, Gen. Museveni congratulated the trainees and all Ugandans in general for moving forward in terms of building strong institutions like the army. 

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI OFFERS TO MEDIATE IN SOMALIA AND SOMALILAND UNIFICATION EFFORTS

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday received a Special Envoy from the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Jama Musse Jama at State House-Entebbe. 

During the engagement, President Museveni agreed to be the unification facilitator between Somaliland and Somalia. 

Somaliland, officially the Republic of Somaliland, is an unrecognised sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, recognised internationally as a de jure part of Somalia.

The Minister of Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Hajjat Minsa Kabanda has urged local authorities in Kampala to recommend only the underprivileged children from the five (5) divisions of the city for free training at the skilling centers under the Presidential Initiative on Skilling the Girl/Boy Child (PISGBC) project.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that he wants all the people in the Karamoja sub-region to benefit from the ongoing industrial development in the area.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni continues to warn politicians, especially members of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party against using their own money in politics with the hope of solving all their constituents' problems.

According to the President, the move is very expensive and depletes resources without creating any significant change to the population.
