PRESS STATEMENT ON THE WORKING VISIT OF HIS EXCELLENCY WILLIAM RUTO OF KENYA

The Presidential Press Unit (PPU) wishes to inform the General Public that the President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Gen. (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has today, Sunday, 13th of August 2023, met and held discussions with the President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency William Samoei Ruto, at State House, Entebbe. 

During the brief meeting, President Museveni and his Kenyan counterpart discussed bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.

 

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI WOOS JAPANESE COMPANIES TO SUPPORT UGANDA ON VALUE ADDITION

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has this afternoon received the Foreign Affairs Minister of Japan, Mr. Hayashi Yoshimasa with his delegation at State house, Entebbe. 

The discussion centered on how Japan can support Uganda specifically on value addition, by encouraging Japanese investors to set up in Uganda, as opposed to importing raw materials which keeps Africa and Uganda stunted despite having natural deposits capable of catapulting the economies.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appealed to the people of the Republic of Serbia to support Uganda to achieve its economic agenda of adding value to its raw materials. 

 

According to the President, if Uganda adds value to its products, it will be able to generate a lot of revenue and in turn, the East African country will attain the much-desired socio-economic transformation. 

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI MAKES CASE FOR UGANDA’S COFFEE AS HE MEETS SERBIA'S NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today met the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Dr. Vladimir Orlić. 

During the meeting at the National Assembly located at 13 Nikola Pasic Square, Belgrade, President Museveni recalled the important moments of the common history of the two countries and their common struggle for freedom and independence, stressing that Serbia and Uganda should continue their struggle for progress and an even better future for their citizens.

AFRICAN PEACE MISSION LEADERS CONDEMN COUP DETAT IN NIGER

We the African Heads of State leading Africa’s Peace Mission to Ukraine and Russia condemn the coup detat in the Republic of Niger and call on the military establishment to ensure the safety of President Mohamed Bazoum. We further call for the return of the military forces to their barracks and to ensure the speedy restoration of the democratic order in Niger.
