President Commissions Kabale Municipal Roads.

President Yoweri Museveni, currently in South Western Uganda on job and Wealth sensitisation campaign, has commissioned the newly built roads within Kabale Municipality of Kabale District in Kigezi Sub-Region. 

The roads were constructed under the Government of Uganda and the World Bank efforts through the Urban Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development Project (USMID). The project aims at improving the road network in the new municipalities across the country.

“Government has Allocated more anti-Poverty Funds” – President informs Ankole Leaders

President Yoweri Museveni has disclosed that the government has allocated more funds to intensify the fight against household poverty in the country through the formation of different Avings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) that will manage the funds in their respective areas.

“We are going to add more funds which will be given to specialised groups. What you have to do is to form SACCOs according to your area of speciality and manage your funds,” he said. 

“Government is committed to Building oil Refinery” – President Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has given assurances that the Government is fully committed to building an oil refinery in the country. 

“The upstream is on course and the final investment decision. We are working to ensure that the oil industry starts production. Land cannot be a problem. The building of a refinery is a minimum. The target is to engage the oil companies for the pipeline,” he revealed.

Museveni takes OWC message to Kyankwanzi District

President Yoweri Museveni, currently on a countrywide tour to sensitize leaders and wananchi on wealth and job creation in order to banish household poverty, has thanked the people of Kwankwanzi District in Greater Mubende area of Central Region of Uganda for listening to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) advice of shifting from traditional agriculture to modernized calculative agriculture. He urged them to continue working even harder in order to defeat poverty completely from their households. 

President vows to fight land war as he takes OWC message to Wakiso District

President Yoweri Museveni has called upon the children of the veterans in Namayumba Sub-County in Wakiso District to work with him in fighting household poverty in their area, just as their parents tremendously helped him during the NRM liberation struggle. 

The President was today addressing a wealth and job creation rally in Bempe Parish, Namuyamba Sub County, Wakiso district. 

President Museveni meets Magufuli on 'Pilgrimage' to Tanzania

CHATO, TANZANIA: "While Christians go to Rome, Muslims to Mecca, I come to Tanzania as my pilgrimage. I am happy to be here. I have a lot of historical attachments to this place. It is like a home to me." 

These were the words of President Museveni, spoken in Swahili, as he addressed residents of Chato District, Geita Region of North-western Tanzania on Saturday, where he had gone to pay a courtesy call on his host, President John Pombe Magufuli. 

President Museveni receives H.E. Abdalftah of Sudan

President Yoweri Museveni has expressed his gratitude to learn that the situation in Sudan is now normalising following the agreement reached between the Military Council and other groups in Khartoum.

“I had a good briefing from His Excellency. I am very happy now the Military Council has agreed with the groups. I encourage the Sudanese to agree because this type of agitation is very dangerous. It scares away business and it scares away investors,” he said.

President Museveni commissions Bulambuli Resettlement Project

President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned Bulambuli Resettlement Project in Eastern Uganda’s Bugisu Sub-Region. The resettlement project offers a home environment that will see the landslide affected people from the districts of Bududa, Bulambuli, Sironko , Manafwa and Namisindwa settle once and for all.

The implementation of the Resettlement Plan followed the President’s directive in November 2018 after a second landslide had killed 53 people in Bukalasi Sub-County, Bududa District.
