President Museveni meets South Sudan President Salva Kiir

President Yoweri Museveni has today (Thursday) received and held a meeting at State House Entebbe with his South Sudan counterpart, Mr. Salva Kiir.
Mr. Kiir, who was accompanied by several high-ranking, officials of his government, was in Uganda for a one-day working visit on the invitation of President Museveni.
In a bilateral meeting, President Kiir briefed his host on the progress of implementation of the Peace Agreement, indicating that it was largely on course with the exception of a few issues that needed to be resolved.

President Museveni, E.U Special Representative Discuss Regional Security

President Yoweri Museveni has met and held discussions with the European Union Special Representative to the Horn of Africa, Mr. Alexander Rondos.
The meeting that was also attended by the E.U. Ambassador to Uganda, Mr. Attilio Pacifici, took place today at the Presidential State Lodge in Gulu, Acholi Sub-region.
Mr. Museveni and his guest discussed the current security situation in the region particularly in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia.

President Yoweri Museveni has told the ongoing SADC Solidarity Conference on Western Sahara that Morocco must be told firmly and clearly that aggression towards Western Saharawi must stop, describing their actions as a mistake of an enemy who knows that when they fight, Africa disappears.

President Accepts NRM Caucus Nomination for 2021 Presidential Candidature

President Yoweri Museveni who is also the national Chairman of the NRM Party has today accepted the NRM Parliamentary Caucus endorsement of the Party’s Central Executive Committee’s resolution that was made at Chobe Safari Hotel in Nwoya District last month that nominated him as the NRM Presidential candidate for the 2021 elections. 

“Focus on Qualitative Transformation” – President urges Africa

President Yoweri Museveni has said that for the African continent to achieve and realise the much desired transformation agenda, the continent must focus on qualitative transformation of her population and production means as opposed to quantitative transformation. He observed that failure to focus on quality as opposed to quantity will make Africa’s efforts at transformation, go in vain.
