CABINET DECISIONS TAKEN 20th May 21, 2019

President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned a revamped multi-billion shillings road network in Arua municipality that includes Enyau Road, Idi Amin Road, Lemerijua road, the Kamure Park round-about, and Old Joago road.

AGALI, LIRA DISTRICT: President Yoweri Museveni has said politics must lead to development and economic transformation in order for it to be meaningful to the people.

“Politics should not be barren, it must lead to development and transformation The Politics of NRM has produced development in Lango and the whole country,” he said.

BRIEFING TO THE MEDIA ON CABINET DECISIONS TAKEN DURING THE CABINET MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 13th MAY, 2019 AT STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE

Cabinet sat on Monday May 13, 2019 at State House Entebbe, and;

1.Approved the proposed Guidelines for organizing and managing National functions. The objectives of the manual  will include;

President Yoweri Museveni has highly commended the people of Omoro District in the Acholi Sub-Region, for choosing good leaders like the District Woman MP, Hon. Catherine Lamwaka, who support Government Development programmes. 

The President was addressing residents of Omoro District during celebrations marking the victory of Hon. Lamwaka who was returned Woman MP in the previous general elections. The celebrations took place yesterday at Opit Primary School grounds in Opit Town Council.

President Yoweri Museveni has advised Ugandans to abandon subsistence agricultural production in favour of commercial profit oriented farming not only to get rid of poverty in their homesteads but also to generate employment.

Cabinet Sat on Monday May 6, 2019 at State House Entebbe, and;

1.Noted the progress on renovation and upgrade of Mulago National Referral Hospital and authorized additional funding of USD 9,511,726 for the project to be completed.

President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated the Orthodox Church in Uganda upon the attainment of 100 years since the faith was started in the country.  The President was speaking today during the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of Aghia Sophia Orthodox Cathedral that also marked the launching of 100 years’ festivities of Orthodox Christianity in Uganda. 

The Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court of Uganda has charged 8 Post Bank officials with cases of abuse of office. 

During the High Court session sitting at Kololo yesterday and presided over by Chief Magistrate, Pamela Ocaya Lamunu, the officials, including Bank Managing Director, Stephen Mukweli, were accused of causing financial loss of nearly Shs.1.9 billion to the bank. The suspects, however, denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty.
