PRESS STATEMENT - H.E SALVA KIIR JETS IN FOR A ONE- DAY WORKING VISIT

The Presidential Press Unit (PPU) wishes to inform the general public that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni today met and held discussions with His Excellency, Salva Kiir, President of South Sudan at State House-Entebbe.

The two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest between the two brotherly countries and border security.

The Special Presidential Assistant on Education and Skilling who also serves as the Head of the Presidential Initiative on Skilling the Girl/ Boy Child (PISGBC), Dr. Faith Katana Mirembe has urged the Uganda Police Force to find a solution to Domestic Violence that is threatening to frustrate government's well thought out program of skilling the youth. 

“Police, I would like to know what action you are going to take in-order to end Domestic Violence,” she demanded.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI INSISTS ON DIGITAL NUMBER PLATES PROJECT, SAYS IT WILL BE A BIG BLOW TO CRIME

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has insisted that the digital motor number plates project must go on as planned, saying it will be very vital in fighting crime in Uganda.

“Now, I'm insisting on the issue of electronic number plates; It will be a very big blow to crime because most of the people move to and from the scene of crime by either a vehicle or a boda boda,” said President Museveni who is also the Commander In Chief of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI ROOTS FOR EDUCATION AND WEALTH CREATION TO TRANSFORM UGANDA INTO MODERN SOCIETY

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is also the National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Chairman has revealed that the government has a future plan of transforming Uganda into a modern society.

He said to achieve this, every Ugandan must join the money economy and that every young person should get the necessary education.

“NRM’S FOUR PRINCIPLES ARE CRUCIAL IN OUR PROSPERITY,” SAYS PRESIDENT MUSEVENI

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that the four core principles of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) are crucial in promoting prosperity among Ugandans. 

The four principles include; Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, Socio-economic Transformation and Democracy. 

The President however said, the principles can only be fully achieved through promoting the ideology of interest against identity. 

SOUTH AFRICAN MINISTERS LAUD PRESIDENT MUSEVENI FOR STEERING UGANDA'S DEVELOPMENT

A delegation of South African ministers has thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for being an exceptional leader who has steered development in Uganda. 

The Ministers also extended greetings from the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and thanked the two Heads of State for their commitment towards promoting the bilateral relations between the two nations. 

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI MEETS INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANIZATION OFFICIALS

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday welcomed a delegation from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) at Munyonyo. 

The group is in Uganda to carry out an oversight audit on Entebbe International Airport. The purpose of the audit is to assess the level of Uganda’s effective implementation of ICAO standards and recommended practices. 

MTN HAILS PRESIDENT MUSEVENI FOR THE SUPPORT TOWARDS TELECOM COMPANY

A delegation from the MTN Group has today paid a courtesy call to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Commonwealth Resort, Munyonyo. 

This was after the end of the two-day Uganda-South Africa Trade and Investment summit. 

During the meeting, President Museveni appealed to MTN Group to bring more investors to Uganda in order to accelerate development in the country.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appealed to South African investors to join forces with Uganda to ensure that they exploit the economic potential of the East African country.

This, the President said, will help build a strong economy for the two countries and Africa at large.
