President Yoweri Museveni asked the people of Hoima District to note that conducting an election is not a simple task but one with challenges. 

“I have come here in Hoima District for a by-election campaign. I ask you for a well-organised peaceful election. I urge the people of Hoima District, therefore, to vote NRM for several reasons based on government’s achievements namely strategic unity without divisive political lines, formation of national Army, economic development and wealth creation policy plans at household level. Others include industrialisation policy for jobs’ creation and employment for the majority youth as well as revamping both education and health sectors, among others.

The President was today addressing a rally in Hoima Municipality on the 2nd and final day of drumming support for NRM;s flag bearer, Businge Harriet Mugenyi, for the candidature of Hoima District Woman Parliamentary seat. The elections are due on Thursday 26th September 2019.

Responding to issues raised by Mr. Kiyimba Mohammed who is Hoima Municipality LC1 Chairman, Mr. Museveni Museveni said that land wrangles between pastoralists and Bagungu community would be addressed by Government. He also revealed that the issue of Hoima Municipality attaining City status has already been dealt with. He also revealed that Bunyoro University will have 2 campuses one at Kagadi and the other in Hoima.

The President urged the electorate in Hoima District to vote for NRM, for Businge Harriet Mugenyi for Hoima Woman Parliamentary seat on 26th September as a reward for what NRM has done in service delivery in the area.

The NRM Vice-Chairperson for Western Region, Matayo Kyaligonza, advised people in Bunyoro Sub-Region not to tolerate any external indiscipline for the sake of peace and stability. He strongly castigated the opposition for their feats of indiscipline.

NRM candidate Businge Harriet Mugenyi assured the voters that she would struggle for high service delivery.
