President in Hunan Province for Economic and Trade Expo

HUNAN PROVINCE, CHINA: President Yoweri Museveni has today arrived in Hunan province of China for a two day working visit during which he will officially open the first China- Africa economic and trade expo and also deliver a key note address.

The President was received at Changsha International Airport by Ms. Li Weiwei, the Chairperson of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, Qing Jianwei, secretary General of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, Xu Zhengxian, the Director of the office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Hunan Provincial committee and Guo Xiangli, full-time Vice President of the Hunan Peoples Association for friendship with foreign Countries. The Uganda delegation is represented the NRM Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba, Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu the Minister for Tourism and Antiquities and Uganda’s Ambassador to China Dr. Crispus Kiyonga. 

The President will later today pay a courtesy call on H.E Hu Chunhua, the Vice Premier of China at the Complex Building of Jiusuo Hotel in Hunan. 

The President is being hosted in Hunan, a province with time-honoured history and a cradle of talented leaders including Chairman Mao Zedong, a founding father of the peoples Republic of China. The Province is also home to the father and founder of hybrid rice – Yuan Longping. Hunan Province unearthed the earliest rice seed in the world and excavated the earliest town in China.
