President Mourns Prof. Mbonye, “He had a lot to offer the Country”
STATE LODGE, NAKASERO: President Yoweri Museveni has described the death of Prof. Anthony Kabanza Mbonye as a big disappointment to the country and the medical service.
Mbonye, 59 was a professor at the school of Public Health, Makerere University and Uganda Christian University. He was also a former Director of Health Services in the Ministry of Health. He is husband to the outgoing State House Comptroller Ms. Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye.
“I express my condolences to the family of our in-coming Head of the Public Service, Lucy Nakyobe, on account of the death of her husband, Dr. Anthony Mbonye, today morning, after a long battle with cancer. His untimely death, is a big disappointment to the Country and the Medical Service. He was still young and had a lot to offer to the Country.
I salute Lucy Nakyobe for looking after him during all the time of his sickness. I was always informed about the struggle to save his life.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Prof. Mbonye will be buried in Ibanda Rwenkobwa on Tuesday July 27, 2021 at 2pm.
