TELECONFERENCE, STATE HOUSE: President Yoweri Museveni has expressed solidarity with the different nations battling coronavirus but was upbeat there will be a solution.
"This virus spreads very fast, but it is very easy to prevent if we continue to practice about three things; Social distancing, keep away from the public when coughing or sneezing as well as avoiding touching our faces or soft parts and washing hands regularly," he said
Following the pronouncement of the corona virus in Uganda by the ministry of health, a team of Doctors from the UPDF,recently trained by the ministry of health were dispatched to Entebbe International Airport grade B hospital and hotels where isolated or quarantined people are being monitored for the likelihood of having the virus.
Dr Capt Kyitahimbwa of Air Force and Dr Capt Magoba of SFC have been tasked to oversee all quarantine centers in Kampala and Entebbe areas to ensure compliance with the already given guidelines.
Uganda holds intercessory prayers in face of pandemic
STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Museveni has said that apart from tourism and entertainment industries that would be greatly affected by the threat of COVID19 pandemic currently raving some parts of the world, the economy of Uganda would continue to thrive.
He counseled that the businessmen who have been importing from China should think of starting to produce products from here.
The Ministry of Health under its Case Management structure has carried out more training on COVID-19 disease.
Dr Gorge Upenytho the Commissioner Community Health Ministry of health (MOH) who opened the training said the main purpose of this training is to create a core competent critical mass among the uniformed personnel who can quickly respond to a disaster within a community.

In a bid to eliminate locusts the UPDF last night intensified spraying the deadly insects in three different Districts of Nabilatuk, Kapchorwa, Karenga and Nakapiripiriti leaving millions destroyed.
According to Col Ezra Byaruhanga the Commander of 407 Infantry Brigade, the exercise which started at 11pm last night achieved it's objective."Most of the locusts in this area have died and u can see them under the tree so this drug is very effective."

The 4th Quadripartite Summit of the Heads of state of Uganda, Rwanda, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo has ended at the Uganda-Rwanda border point of Katuna with Uganda and Rwanda signing an extradition treaty in line with 3rd Quadripartite Summit held in Luanda Angola recently.
