President Museveni receives DRC Special Envoy

President Yoweri Museveni has received a Special Envoy of President Felix Tshisekedi  Tshilombo of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gen. Celestine Mbala Musense.

The meeting took place today in Kabale District where the President has been sensitizing wananchi on the wealth and job creation programme.

President Museveni and his guests deliberated on a number of issues including security and economic cooperation between the 2 neighbouring countries – DRC and Uganda.

President welcomes reigning Miss World at Rwakitura

President Yoweri Museveni this afternoon received and welcomed reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce, and also doubles as Miss Mexico who called on him at his country home in Rwakitura in Kiruhuura District.

Miss Vanessa Ponce who is the 68th Miss World since the global pageant began, is in Uganda for a six-day visit at the invitation of reigning Miss Uganda Quinn Abenakyo, who is also Miss World Africa.

The President’s Wealth creation Engagements in Perspective

The opposition parties, particularly FDC, UPC and DP are angry, that President Yoweri Museveni is short-changing them by allegedly disguising his early re-election campaigns as mobilization for wealth creation especially in rural communities. But whether the opposition and their allies in the civil society accepts or not, the objective truth is that majority of Ugandans, about 68 percent still live in subsistence economy and need big direct help and intervention.

Tackle Africa’s under Production, consumption for Prosperity, Museveni tells COMESA

NAIROBI, KENYA: President Yoweri Museveni has urged countries under COMESA to tackle under-production and under-consumption to spur economic transformation.

“Africa is so rich and yet so poor. There are a number of bottlenecks that we need to deal with including market integration, infrastructure such as roads and electricity and other cost pushers,” he said.

President hails Living Water International for Exemplary Work

President Yoweri Museveni has commended the US-based Living Water International for setting a good example for others to follow by stepping out to help their Christian neighbours, an act, he said was Godly and walking in Jesus’s foot steps.

“According to the distribution of your efforts, you seem to be in the footsteps of Jesus because He guided us very clearly. We shall know them by their fruits, not what they say but what they do,” he said.

“Games Train and Prepare you for Peaceful Competition” – Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has said that games train and prepare people for peaceful competition. 

He made the remarks last evening (Monday) at State House Entebbe where he hosted the Uganda Cranes football team after their return home from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) football games in Cairo, Egypt. He hosted them to a luncheon and congratulated the national team for qualifying among the top 16 teams out of 53 in Africa, which took part in the tournament.

“Help people to come out of poverty” – Museveni to Leaders

President Yoweri Museveni has called on the leaders of Bukedi Sub-Region in Eastern Uganda to sensitise the wananchi in the region on dangers of producing only for consumption> He, therefore, emphasized that the aim should be production for commercial purposes through modern farming practices.

“Leaders should help people come out of this dangerous situation. People learn by listening. That’s why I am here to share with you what I know. At least God will not ask me why I didn’t tell you,” he said.

President receives UN Representatives in Uganda

President Yoweri Museveni has received a delegation of the United Nations representatives in Uganda who paid a courtesy call on him today at Mbale State Lodge in Eastern Uganda.

The President and his guests, who were led by the UN Resident Coordinator in Uganda, Ms. Rosa Malango, discussed a wide range of issues that included the technical cooperation between Uganda and the United Nations.

President Musevenui returns from China

President Yoweri Museveni is back home from an official working to the People’s Republic of China.

During his stay in China, Mr. Museveni gave a keynote address at the official opening of Coordinators’ meeting of the Implementation of the follow up Action of Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) that took place in Beijing the capital of China and also held talks with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, among other engagements.
