President Tshisekedi in Uganda on a Two-day State visit

“Am consulting elders to see how to shift from conflict to economic zone”

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE:  President Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo of the Democratic Republic of Congo has arrived in Uganda on a two day state visit, telling his host President Yoweri Museveni in a tet-a-tet meeting that he is consulting elders in the region to see how his country can shift from a conflict zone to economic cooperation.

Tripartite Extends ROSS Revitalized Agreement for 100 days

The Tripartite Summit of the Heads of State of Uganda, Sudan and South Sudan that took place today at State House, Entebbe on the revitalized Agreement on Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan, has agreed to extend the Pre-Transitional period for one hundred days effective 12th November 2019 in order to, among others, handle the incomplete critical tasks  related to the security arrangements, including the formation of a revitalized transitional government of National Unity.

President Lauds MUK researcher on Ebola, Marburg viruses’ Test Kit

President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated Dr. Misaki Wayengera, a Researcher at Makerere University College of Health Sciences, for his efforts in developing a rapid test kit to diagnose the deadly Ebola and Marburg viruses.

“I want to congratulate our scientists because they are really waking up and producing a lot of products. The Government will fund you. It is the issue of prioritization and putting the money in the right place,” he said.

“Address causes of Injustices, Human Rights’ Abuses Holistically ” – President Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has opened the 4th African Judicial Dialogue with an advice to State and non-state actors who are devoted to the promotion of justice and human rights to holistically address the causes of injustices and human rights abuses that are deeply rooted in the social, economic and cultural set up of the African society. He said that the issue calls for much more than merely dealing with the legalities.

Museveni hails Ethiopia’s Unity Park:

 Addis Ababa – President Yoweri Museveni has praised the Ethiopian Prime Minister and his Government for accurately documenting the country’s recent history by inaugurating the Unity Park. President Museveni made the commendation last evening (Thursday) as he joined several other regional leaders to witness the colourful inauguration of the Park in the Ethiopian Capital, Addis Ababa.

 

President assures on solving major cost Pushers

President Yoweri Museveni has assured manufacturers in Uganda that the NRM Government is committed to solving all major cost pushers to ensure that business operators are able to benefit from their business operations.

Mr. Museveni was speaking at the opening of the 27th Uganda International Trade Fair that took place today at Lugogo’s Uganda Manufacturers Association show grounds in Kampala where manufacturers and exhibitors are showcasing their numerous industrial merchandise.

Musaazi gave Direction when Africa was Leaderless- Museveni

KAMPALA: President Yoweri Museveni has said that Ignatius Kangave Musaazi is in the same category as South Africa's Nelson Mandela who filled the vacuum when Africa was leaderless and down.

According to the President, it is not possible to mention people like I.K Musaazi without talking about Africa, ‘because they were the glue that united the continent to put up resistance in the face of colonialism’.

President commends China for helping Uganda in Development

President Yoweri Museveni has commended the Government of China for supporting Uganda in infrastructure development including railway transport, electricity generation, road construction and telecommunications, among others.

"Rail transport is much cheaper compared to road transport. The Government of China has been helping Uganda in the development of this area,” he said.
