President Museveni meets British Envoy Peter West at Nakasero

President Yoweri Museveni has met and held talks with the British High Commissioner to Uganda, Mr.  Peter West, who called on him  today at State House, Nakasero.
The President and his guest discussed bilateral issues between Uganda and Britain as well as regional issues.
President Museveni informed the envoy that the region is experiencing improved political stability.

President Museveni Meets with US Envoy for the Great Lake Region

President Yoweri Museveni has held a meeting with the visiting United States of America Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region in Africa, Mr. Pham Peter and his delegation, who called on the President today at State House, Entebbe.

The President and his guests discussed matters relating to security, trade, political and economic integration of the Great Lakes Region. 

President Museveni in SA for Ramaphosa Inauguration

President Yoweri Museveni has arrived in the South African city of Pretoria where he will join other heads of state and governments at the inauguration ceremony of the President elect of South Africa Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa at the Loftus Versfeld Rugby Stadium in Tshwane, Pretoria.

The Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Hon Reginah Mhawule and Uganda’s High Commissioner to South Africa Barbara Nekesa received the President who arrived last evening at Lanseria International airport.

President commends People of Omoro on Voting good Leaders

President Yoweri Museveni has highly commended the people of Omoro District in the Acholi Sub-Region, for choosing good leaders like the District Woman MP, Hon. Catherine Lamwaka, who support Government Development programmes. 

The President was addressing residents of Omoro District during celebrations marking the victory of Hon. Lamwaka who was returned Woman MP in the previous general elections. The celebrations took place yesterday at Opit Primary School grounds in Opit Town Council.

Post Bank officials charged for Abuse of Office

The Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court of Uganda has charged 8 Post Bank officials with cases of abuse of office. 

During the High Court session sitting at Kololo yesterday and presided over by Chief Magistrate, Pamela Ocaya Lamunu, the officials, including Bank Managing Director, Stephen Mukweli, were accused of causing financial loss of nearly Shs.1.9 billion to the bank. The suspects, however, denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty.
