Cabinet sat on Monday August 26th 2019 at Office of the President, Apollo Kaggwa Road, Kampala, and;

1.Approved the appointment of members of the Refugee Appeals Board in line with the provisions of Section 16 of the Refugee Act, 2006. The approved members are;

i)Mr. Gordon Lakidi Oloya-Chairperson 

ii)Mr. Charles Wadenya -Member

iii)Mr. Gordon Mwesigye-Member 

iv)Hajj Kisambira Muhammad Tezikuba-Member

v)Ms. Animu Angupale -Member

1.Noted that Uganda will participate in the fourth Edition of the East African Community (EAC) Arts and Culture Festival (JAMAFEST), 2019 in Der-es Salaam from 21st – 28th September, 2019 under the theme “Cultural Diversity; a key driver to Regional Integration, Economic Growth and Tourism Promotion” The objectives of JAMAFEST are;

1.Approved the National Health Insurance Scheme Bill, 2019. The following are the Objectives of the Bill:

(i)To facilitate the provision of accessible, affordable acceptable and quality healthcare services to citizens irrespective of their age, economic, health and social status;

1.Approved the National Transitional Policy. The objectives of the Policy are;

i.To address the gaps in the formal Justice system for post conflict situations;

ii.To formalize the use of traditional justice mechanism in post conflict situations;
