KOLOLO CEREMONIAL GROUNDS: President Yoweri Museveni has called on leaders to guide the people on how to eradicate poverty at household level to achieve socio-economic transformation in society.

“A focused leader should not accept wrong politics, yearn for self imposed political position. Instead, the leader should teach the people the best ways to earn a living”, he said adding that by doing this, a vying candidate wins political support from the people easily.

The President warned political leaders who are arrogantly inciting people with threats of life and property destruction that they will not be tolerated in a united Uganda.

“Those who are criticizing NRM political line are wasting their time because they do not have factual and credible ground for such allegations”, he said.

The President was yesterday addressing a group of NRM flag bearers who participated in the recently concluded national elections at all levels at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, in Kampala.

Mr. Museveni urged the youth as NRM cadres to consider security, peace and political stability as the key elements the country must have.

“Let us embark on streamlined and strategic ways of politics”, he said.

He advised the population that dwells in peri-urban areas to ensure that they initiate commercial channels of getting regular sources of income on small available pieces of land by establishing small and medium scale factories in locations that have market assurance.

The NRM Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba noted that Kampala sub region needs fresh and massive mobilisation after realizing that there are some areas where civic voter education is missing.

The organiser of the group Singh Katongole who is also the NRM National Vice Chairperson for Kampala thanked President Museveni for the facilitation extended to the NRM flag bearers and called on him to strengthen party structures from village level to the district level.
