With Record of Peace and Progress, Nobody can Defeat NRM- Museveni

FORTPORTAL MUNICIPALITY, KABALORE: Leaders from Tooro sub-region have commended the NRM government under the stewardship of President Museveni for fulfilling the pledges made in the 2016 campaign manifesto.

This was contained in a joint memorandum by leaders from the districts of Kabarole, Kyegegwa, Kyenjojo, Bunyangabo, Kamwenge, Kitagwenda read by the LC 5 Chairperson Kabarole district Mr. Richard Rwabuhinga at Boma Grounds in Fort-portal Municipality. The leaders, including NRM Political leaders, flag bearers and Youth, were today meeting President Museveni who is also the NRM Presidential Candidate at a scientific campaign meeting held at Boma grounds Fort-Portal Municipality.

The people of Tooro region through their leaders further thanked President Museveni for the good road network, rural electrification, and the industrial park in Kabarole that will provide the youth with jobs.

President Yoweri Museveni who is also the NRM flag bearer urged NRM leaders to sensitize the population about the contribution of the NRM government in stabilizing the country and allowing for peace and economic transformation to thrive following the bad leadership that had stagnated the country along tribal and religious lines.

He said that unity, a strong army and peace followed by pro-private sector policies have enabled Uganda to attract investors who have constructed industries, provided employment as well as increased revenue collections that have supported government to develop its infrastructure projects.

“That is the story of NRM, it is clear-written and proven on the ground. Nobody with logic can defeat you. That is why they now jump up and down and even don’t talk properly,” he said. 

He said the situation in the country was like a societal hospital where the disease is diagnosed and the correct medicine prescribed.

He said the only challenge is to allocate budgetary resources prioritizing programs that are in line with the needs of the people and therefore called on leaders and the electorate to send to Parliament house members who will help him to pass prioritized programs that are in line with the needs of the people.

“Lets agree to budget more, not only for the roads, electricity and others but also for the wealth funds for women and the youth,” he said.

Later the children of Early Bird School, Maninga Lilly, Nimusiima Pauline and Malaika Aldrine all of the age of 8 years old led by the Director of the School Hannah Kamulindwa Okwir recited a moving poem on how the NRM under the able leadership of President Yoweri Musveni has brought peace and tranquility to Uganda, uplifted the vulnerable communities including women and children and improved the socio-economic status of the people of Uganda.

President Museveni later met youth leaders at the same venue whom he advised to become change agents, right from their homes and families.

“If you want to be a good politician start by being a good social leader. You will do 3 things socially, economically and eventually in politics you will have a bond with people for ever,” he counseled.

President Museveni said it was a pleasure meeting with the youth as he also started his work with the people as a youth and pledged to support them youth in their quest for entrepreneurship like adding value to our products.

He further promised to organize ideological training for them at Kyankwanzi National leadership Institute after the elections. 

The youth in their memorandum read by the chairperson of Fort portal Youth Council Jonathan Nyaika said they as UPE graduates are all out to support NRM and President Musdveni in the coming elections.

“We want to thank you for the meeting during this period when we are to exercise our Constitutional right to vote our leaders, an achievement of the NRM principle of Democracy,” he said.
