STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Museveni has called upon Muslims to maintain the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures set by the Ministry of Health even while observing the Holy Ramathan fasting period.

The message was today read by President Museveni at State House Entebbe.

KISOZI, GOMBA DISTRICT: President Yoweri Museveni has saluted the Chinese Communist Party for its support towards African countries political struggle for independence and economic development. 

“China has been a friend to Africa since 1950s. I congratulate Chinese Communist Party for its support towards Africa political struggle for development”, he said.

STATE LODGE, NAKASERO: President Yoweri Museveni and the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Kataha Museveni have today got their first doses of the Astrazeneca vaccine as protection against the COVID-19 virus.

Speaking shortly after being vaccinated, the President urged Ugandans to get the vaccines as protection from severe sickness and death.

KAMPALA: President Yoweri Museveni has described the late President John Pombe Magufuli as a dedicated servant not only to the people of Tanzania but also to the people of East Africa and Africa, challenging all those who are still alive to continue with the struggle started in the past by the freedom fighters.

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Museveni has mourned the Late president of Tanzania His Excellency John Magufuli describing him as a patriot who could not tolerate corruption and the meddling of outside countries into the affairs of Tanzania.

“It is therefore a great shock that such a useful leader has died so early when he was beginning to make an impact on his country,” he said.

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has commended the government of Uganda and President Yoweri Museveni for the good and flexible refugee policies that have enabled people from the neighboring countries to take refuge in Uganda and amicably coexist with the hosting communities.

In the Book of Mathew Chapter 8, Verses 23 to 26, Jesus, while rebuking the winds, said: “Why are you afraid, O you people of little faith?  This was as a consequence of lack of faith when the boat they were sitting in was being swamped by the waves and His disciples were afraid that they were going to perish.   

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Museveni has this afternoon received the  Chairman of the Transitional Military Council of the Republic of Sudan General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan who paid a courtesy call on him at State House Entebbe.

General Fattah who is the current chairman of the regional body Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), is also the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council of Sudan.

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Museveni has today received and met the Executive Secretary of Inter Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) H.E. Dr. Workneh Gebeheyu who paid a courtesy call on him at State House, Entebbe.

The envoy who was on a consultative visit was accompanied by Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Sam Kutesa.
