PRESIDENT MUSEVENI AND FAMILY SPEND CHRISTMAS IN RWAKITURA

RWAKITURA, KIFUHURA DISTRICT: President Yoweri Museveni and the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Hon. Janet K. Museveni spent Christmas Day at their country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura district yesterday.

Despite being at their home, the President and family still observed COVID-19 SOPs as guided by the Ministry of Health.

The President will on December 31, address the nation during his annual News Years Message.

 

DRC ADMISSION IN EAC DELAYED BY COLONIAL BOUNDARIES, PRESIDENT MUSEVENI SAYS

President Yoweri Museveni has attributed the delay to incorporate the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as a member state of the East African Community (EAC) to the distortion by colonial boundaries. 

“DRC is part of the region. It’s colonialism that brought problems. Now that Africa got its freedom, we should get out of the distortion. The people we are integrating are part of us,” Museveni said.

STRONG REGIONAL MARKET WILL PROMOTE TRANSFORMATION - PRESIDENT MUSEVENI

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Museveni has said that there is need for regional mass mobilization to create big and sustainable market for local product in the region and drive social economic transformation.

“Big marketing strategy for locally manufactured products has made a state like the USA grow stronger and popular. The building blocks of regional cooperation was an initiative of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and Patirisi Lumbamba, which should be fully supported”, he said.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI TIPS PRESIDENTIAL ADVISORS ON ROLE IN NATIONAL TRANSFORMATION

Presidential Advisors are set to play a greater role in national development and transformation after President Yoweri Museveni addressed them at their first ever orientation workshop/retreat at NALI, Kyankwanzi, yesterday afternoon with a call on them to uphold the four core principles of NRM if they are to make a contribution to national development. The workshop has been ongoing since Tuesday. The four core principles of NRM are Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, Socio-economic transformation and Democracy.

PRESIDENT COMMENDS INDIAN COMMUNITY ON CONTRIBUTION TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Museveni has commended the Indian community in Uganda for its contribution to the economic development of the country and appealed to them to encourage more people to exploit the vast investment opportunities here.

“Thank yos so much for your contribution to the economic development of the country. Bring more business people for investments here. Encourage more people to come for tourism also”, he said.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI CALLS FOR UNITY AHEAD OF KAYUNGA LCV BY ELECTION

KAYUNGA: President Yoweri Museveni who is also the national chairman of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has called upon the people of Kayunga to unite and support NRM which has the cure for Uganda's problems. 

The President was today meeting NRM leaders at Kayonza Church of Uganda primary school play ground, Bbaale County Constituency in Kayunga district while canvassing support for Mr Andrew Muwonge, the NRM candidate in the Kayunga LC5 by-election race.

UPDF/FARDC MAKE GOOD PROGRESS ON OPENING UP SECURITY ROADS IN NORTH KIVU

The UPDF Engineering Brigade working with FARDC  has embarked on opening up the impassable stretch of the main supply route from Mukakati UPDF Forward Operating Base (FOB) up to ease passage through R.Semlik Bridge. 

 

The dilapidated and narrow stretch of 14kms had slowed down the advance of UPDF ground offensive against ADF terrorists. 

 

Inculcate work Culture to fight Corruption – President

KOLOLO CEREMONIAL GROUNDS: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged anti-corruption agencies to inculcate a good work culture among Ugandans using the sectors of wealth creation to eliminate corruption.

"The sectors of wealth are there and well known; agriculture, services, manufacturing etc, so that people get the culture of starting small and belonging," he said.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI MEETS DELEGATION OF INDIAN INVESTORS

President Yoweri Museveni has assured a visiting Indian Industries Association delegation of investors that Uganda has an abundant potential and unexploited areas of investment calling upon them to come and exploit the investment opportunities for profit.

The President was today holding a meeting with the delegation led by the Chairman of Indian Association in Uganda Mr Ashok Kumar Agarwal at State House Entebbe.
