President Drums up Support for Hoima District Woman MP slot

President Yoweri Museveni, who is also NRM National Chairperson, today began a two-day by-election campaign canvasing votes for the NRM flag bearer for Hoima District Woman Member of Parliament Businge Harriet Mugenyi Akiiki and called upon the electorate to vote for the NRM candidate to reciprocate government’s socio-economic and political achievements made in the area. 

President Museveni chairs UPDF Council meeting at Entebbe

President Yoweri Museveni and Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) today chaired a meeting of the Defence Forces Council, the Supreme decision making-body of the UPDF.

 The meeting that took place today at State House, Entebbe deliberated on the current security situation in the country and expressed its satisfaction with the prevailing peace.

President Museveni urges the youths to engage in Agro-Production

President Yoweri Museveni has called on the youths in particular and the country at large to engage in commercial agro-production and value addition as a means of eradicating household poverty.
“Food production only for the stomach is not good. You must have income for yourselves. In all that you do, you must work with good calculations. I want to support the youth groups of Karamoja by donating to them flour mills and enable the production of animal feeds. This will assure us of value addition,” he said.

President Commends US for Support to Combat viral Diseases

President Yoweri Museveni has thanked the Government of the United States of America for the continued role and support in combating viral diseases like Ebola in Uganda and the region as a whole. 

The President was speaking during meeting with the visiting American Secretary of Health and Human Service, Mr. Alex Azar and his delegation, which called on him today at State House, Entebbe.

“Join fight against Corruption” – Lt. Col. Nakalema urges Teachers

The Head of the Anti-Corruption Unit in State House, Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema, has urged teachers to join the fight against corruption and highlighted the various measures that the Government has taken to eliminate the vice.

“Corruption is defined as evil or a sin. A corrupt person is broken because morals and character do not tally with the expectations of society. The practice is an evil in the whole world. Teachers must lead exemplary lives  and be corruption free people,” she said.
