Work Diligently for Uganda’s Development – New PPS Omona

KAMPALA: The new Principal Private Secretary to the President Dr. Kenneth Omona Olusegun has called on staff of State House to work diligently and maintain at all times the positive image of the country by fulfilling all their tasks.

“I have come to work with you individually, departmentally and institutionally. Let us build our strength towards working for the development of Uganda,” he said.

President advises farmers on maize Production

President Yoweri Museveni has advised farmers in the country who have big chunks of land that they can grow maize while those with four acres and below should embrace the four-acre model of production of fruits, coffee, food crops and grass that can be used as fodder for animals.

The President gave the advice at a public rally that was held yesterday in Kitenga Sub-County in Mubende District.

Museveni, Ruto Endorse New African Leadership Building

President Yoweri Museveni has pledged US$100,000 to the construction of the ‘William Ruto Institute of African Studies’ building that is slated to be erected at Makerere University in Kampala. 

The pledge was revealed in a meeting between Mr. Museveni and visiting Deputy President of Kenya, William Ruto, who called on him today at Mubende State Lodge and during which Mr. Museveni endorsed the construction of the complex.

President receives special message from Chinese President Xi Jinping

President Yoweri Museveni has received a special message from President Xi Jinping of China.

Mr. Yang Jiechi, Special Representative of President Xi Jinping, delivered the message to President Museveni today at State House, Entebbe.

“...you showed great interest during your most recent visit to China to build strong relations between Uganda and China. In regard to bilateral relations, the visit manifested a strengthened and strong ties and cooperation," read part of the message.

President hails sports men, women for 2019 Uganda Achievements

President Yoweri Museveni has commended sports personalities in Uganda for the achievements attained for the country during 2019. 

The President was speaking at State House, Entebbe yesterday shortly after he and the 1st Lady, Janet Museveni, had hosted over 400 sports men and women as well as officials to a luncheon to celebrate the achievements the country has realized in sports this year.  

President lauds Inter-religious Council on Oneness

President Yoweri Museveni has highly commended the Uganda Inter-Religious Council (IRCU) for fostering oneness among the different faiths in the country. 

The President made the remarks yesterday at State House, Entebbe during the Annual National Thanksgiving Service that was organized by the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda to thank God and offer prayers for continued peace in the country and for completing the year 2019.
